Honey Streusel Topping

Use this easy, endlessly adaptable streusel to add crunch and buttery richness to ice cream, yogurt, cakes, pies, panna cotta, custard, mousse and more.


  • ½ cup cold butter

  • 2 Tbsp sugar

  • 2 Tbsp honey

  • ¾ cup flour


  1. Cut the butter into cubes and let it sit on the counter for 10 minutes.

  2. Transfer to the bowl of a stand mixer equipped with a paddle.

  3. Add the sugar and honey; mix on low speed.

  4. Once smooth, add the flour, mixing just until it attains a crumbly texture.

  5. Scatter the crumble on a baking sheet, breaking up any clumps.

  6. Bake, stirring with a spatula, until golden and crisp, about 15 minutes.
